Goring Kerr DSP IP Plus Metal Detector

The world's first metal detection system that is truly impervious to high pressure and temperature washdown. The Goring Kerr DSP IP Plus sets a new global standard by meeting the IP 69k standards, the most demanding washdown rating ever. In addition, the improved Plus version now matches the sensitivity of the industry leading, full size DSP3 metal detector from Thermo Electron.

Goring Kerr DSP IP Plus Sets New Environmental and Performance Standards for Metal Detection.
The world's very first severe washdown metal detection system has been improved by Thermo Electron Corporation. The new Goring Kerr DSP IP Plus sets a new benchmark now by not only meeting IP 69k washdown standards, but also providing sensitivity matching that of the industry leading Thermo Electron DSP3 metal detector.
IP69k is a global standard originally developed by the automotive industry. The standard specifies protection against ingress of water from jets at a pressure of 1450 psi and a temperature of up to 80 deg C. This is the level of protection typically required for thorough cleaning of meat, fish, poultry, dairy and other raw food processing lines. Traditional metal detectors or those with protective covers for the front panel can not survive in these types of harsh applications.
The new Plus model utilizes a unique multi-coil approach first applied in the high performance DSP Rx pharmaceutical metal detector. This design increases the flux in the aperture to provide the best metal detection sensitivity in both wet and dry applications. Extensive testing by Thermo Electron has shown the DSP IP Plus now matches the metal finding capability of the DSP3 metal detector.
Based on the proven Goring Kerr DSP3 range of digital signal processing metal detectors, the DSP IP Plus features a unique stainless steel membrane keypad. The user display is covered with an extra thick plastic cover and the entire front panel is sealed with a heavy duty gasket attached to a metal flange. To assure no water can enter the case through the aperture it is epoxy lined. To reduce wiring requirements and consume less space all power supply and I/O wiring is contained in the detection head instead of in a separate control box. |
